The Position:
The Technical Solutions Sales Manager team at Panasonic Avionics Corporation is dedicated to prioritizing customer success and delivering exceptional outcomes. As primary technical representatives for the organization, we place a high emphasis on understanding and addressing the unique needs and expectations of our customers. By effectively leveraging our extensive expertise in platforms and products, we develop and deliver innovative solutions that enhance our customers business outcomes, empowering airlines to achieve growth and navigate challenges with efficacy. As a Technical Solutions Sales Manager, you will be responsible for designing and engineering new solutions, guiding them from the conceptual stage through to successful customer delivery, specifically in the area of Panasonic’s inflight entertainment and communication systems. Your role will involve providing leadership and demonstrating a comprehensive range of expertise across various engineering disciplines, with a particular focus on system platforms, products, services, and user experiences.
Proposals:
- Collaborate decisively with Sales teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of the regional sales strategy and deliver impactful technical solutions that drive sales success.
- Design and develop complex, integrated product solutions in conjunction with Account Management and Regional Sales teams that fulfill customer requirements for proposals and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Technical owner for compliance matrices, produce comprehensive technical analysis documents for proposed solution(s), and hardware/system parts lists.
- Utilize existing customer system configurations, use cases, crew, and maintenance operations to recommend relevant upgrades in new solution proposals.
Integrated Solutions:
- Strategically focus on upselling, cross-selling, and renewing digital products and services to enhance customer engagement.
- Architect technical solutions that empower customers to achieve their business goals.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management to shape product roadmaps and system features based on customer insights while aligning with PAC’s overarching business goals.
- Gain a deep understanding of customers’ evolving fleet plans and priorities to tailor impactful solutions that resonate with their needs.
- Establish the technical and product vision for account plans, with a firm emphasis on achieving positive customer outcomes.
Customer Interaction:
- Serve as the innovation and solutions leader during Quarterly Digital Reviews (QDRs), innovation workshops, trade shows, sales demonstrations, and meetings.
- Proactively engage customers to identify how PAC solutions can maximize their value and drive success.
- Partner effectively with Sales teams to uncover business opportunities and deliver technical solutions that stand out during the RFP stages.
- Collect and analyze customer configurations, provide expert technical guidance, and develop product integration strategies, while sharing best practices for utilizing Panasonic technologies, system platforms, and products.
Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and best practices to enhance the proficiency of the customer solutions organization.
- Train and mentor team members on emerging products, concepts, requirements, and essential customer-related information.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and enthusiasm for the solutions presented, fostering confidence in our approach and expertise.
The salary or hourly wage range of $116,000 – $194,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Product Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
- 8-12 years of related experience.
- Require 10-15 travel.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical requirements, design concepts, ideas, and solutions to engineering teams.
- Expected to have strong customer-facing skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and crisis management.
- Experience in communicating technical concepts and solutions to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in working in an Agile environment as a business and technical product owner.
- Experience in working with brand and/or design guidelines for UI development.
- Familiar with interaction design, use of interactive technologies, and best practices.
- Familiar with AWS cloud computing, experience with development in Cloud, ability to explain cloud infrastructure, services, and applications preferred.
- Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a fast, dynamic environment.

- Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
