Machine operation:
- Loading and unloading materials onto the waterjet machine.
- Programming cutting paths using CNC software based on work orders or blueprints.
- Adjusting cutting parameters like pressure, speed, and abrasive flow to optimize results.
- Monitoring machine performance and making necessary adjustments during operation.
- Starting and stopping the machine as needed.
Quality control:
- Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Identifying and addressing any quality issues during the cutting process
- Performing test cuts to verify machine settings before full production runs
Maintenance and troubleshooting:
- Performing routine cleaning and lubrication of the waterjet machine
- Inspecting cutting heads, nozzles, and abrasive delivery systems for wear and tear
- Identifying and reporting any machine malfunctions to the supervisor
- Troubleshooting minor issues related to cutting process or tooling
Safety procedures:
- Adhering to all safety guidelines related to operating a high-pressure waterjet machine
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Required skills and qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with CNC programming and operation
- Knowledge of different materials and their cutting properties
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Basic computer skills
