Structure Shop - Technician

Job Description:

Position SummaryAs a Structures Technician, you are required to carry out tasks as assigned by the Structures Shop Supervisor on a wide variety of primarily aircraft structures tasks and other projects as assigned. Duties will include in-shop work and on-aircraft tasks.Personal CharacteristicsPossess sensitivity towards cultural awareness and diversityHigh flexibility with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentA strong, collaborative team player who shows initiative and resourcefulness, and a demonstrated ability to work independentlyPossesses a “can-do” and “will do” attitude and ability to personally contribute in a fast-paced environmentAccountable, adaptable self-starter who works well under pressureAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projectsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsResponsibilitiesComply with all current approved data: Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, approved drawings and current manuals for repairs and approvalsIdentify and report abnormal or unusual occurrences on aircraft defectsResponsible to collect all data, parts and tooling required for the task at handThe ability to think outside the box, while maintaining compliancePerform all other tasks as assigned by supervisorMinimum Education and ExperienceCompletion of grade 12 or equivalent5 years of structural experience on pressurized aircraft preferredTransport Canada S-License or completed Approved training, with full accreditation a strong assetAbility to qualify for RAIC PassValid driver’s license preferredAbility to understand engineering drawings is requiredFirst Nations Awareness training considered an assetWorking ConditionsWork in a shop environment with full range of movement (flexibility) requiredExtended periods of standing, crouching and kneeling in an aircraft and shopFast-paced environment; constraining deadlines; repetitive tasksPeriods of heavy lifting up to a maximum of 100lbsShift work may be required (day, evening, and/or night shift)Travel requiredOutside work required, all seasonsUse of PPE required
