Job Title: Lapping Machine Operator
Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for performing rough and finish lapping of seal components and precision machined parts to within 1-3 healing light bands, micro finish, height, and parallelism as required per drawing. After training, this position will involve limited supervision and requires independence. The role also includes maintaining inventory of supplies, troubleshooting quality problems, reading and comprehending drawings to effectively lap, maintaining machine tools, and following PM schedules with the maintenance team.
Responsibilities
- Perform rough and finish lapping of seal components and precision machined parts.
- Maintain precision to within 1-3 healing light bands, micro finish, height, and parallelism as per drawings.
- Work independently with limited supervision after training.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and troubleshoot quality issues.
- Read and comprehend drawings for effective lapping.
- Maintain machine tools and follow PM schedules with the maintenance team.
Essential Skills
- 1 yearf machine operator, setup, or technical operating experience.
- 1 year of blueprint reading experience.
- 1 year of experience using a micrometer.
- 1 year of inspection experience.
- Ability to use computers for documentation and part order review.

Work Environment
Work in a clean shop environment with a smaller team, operating at different stations. The position is for the 1st shift, from 6 AM to 4 PM.

This is a Contract position based out of Harwood Heights, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
