Job Description
The Janitor job duties and responsibilities include keeping facility and/or office area in
clean and orderly condition.

Essential Functions
Clean and maintain designated spaces both inside and outside of the facility on a daily
basis, which includes the lobby, restrooms, offices, conference rooms, parking lot and
public areas. Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, polish, shampoo carpets, wash windows and
empty trash on a daily basis. Maintain and stock supply rooms and bathrooms as needed.
Perform light maintenance and repair. Check for potential safety issues or needed repairs
on a daily basis and bring them to the attention of the Facility Manager. Moves cabinets,
boxes, furniture, crates and equipment as needed.

Position Type and Expected Hours
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m.
to 3:00 p.m.

• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Ability to operate equipment and machinery
• Integrity and ability to work independently or as a team member

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
Position is in a manufacturing environment which includes office areas. Manufacturing
floor is level, office area is two story with stairs.
Physical Demands
The Janitor position requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. May use
ladders and machinery like buffing machine, floor cleaning, vacuum cleaner. Ability to lift,
carrying up to 40 lbs.
