The Role: Inflight Safety Executive
Join British Airways and become a key part of our Global Catering Safety & Security team as an Inflight Safety Executive, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, health, and security across our operations. Reporting to the Catering Safety & Security Manager, this is a dynamic and multifaceted role that supports our commitment to being Safe & Secure Always.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver robust food safety risk and compliance management strategies.
- Oversee and govern the global food safety audit scheme, including managing financial accountability and third-party audit providers.
- Lead the approval process for new products, investigate incidents or complaints, and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide expert food safety support to British Airways colleagues, including crew, as well as catering suppliers.
- Manage aviation health & safety responsibilities and catering supplier security, with full training provided for those new to aviation.
What You’ll Bring to British Airways:
- A proactive, highly motivated approach with a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively across teams.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and a drive to ensure compliance and safety excellence.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, with flexibility to undertake international travel when needed.
Your Experience:
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a food science or related subject.
- Lead Auditor qualified, ideally with FSSC22000.
- Advanced (Level 4) HACCP certification is preferred.
- Candidates without aviation experience are welcome – full training will be provided to help you understand safety and security in aviation.
