Job Description
The HR Generalist is an important member of the Human Resources team. The position primarily focus is recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, engagement activities/events, and attendance administration. This position requires a dynamic individual who can balance administrative duties, project planning, and ongoing employee support, ensuring that all processes are compliant and that employee concerns are addressed timely with professionalism and empathy. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of HR practices and ensure the seamless operation of these critical functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
HR Administration
- Responsible for the full-scope recruitment of hourly employees from posting to onboarding; assists with salaried recruiting
- Participate in the design, development and updating of policies and procedures
- Maintain records for mandatory training, continuing education, tuition reimbursement, and disciplinary documentation
- Benefit administration to include new hire enrollment; open enrollment; change reporting; and invoice review and approval
- Conducts new employee orientation and onboarding
- Maintains HRMS records and compiles reports as needed
- Maintains personnel files, medical files, and training records in compliance with applicable legal requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Inclusion & Engagement
- Using best business judgment, oversee employee relations matters, including employee recognition programs, disciplinary matters, performance improvement plans, and exit interviews
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
- Manages employee communication channels, including electronic monitors, weekly employee meetings, quarterly business updates, and mass text notification system
- Lead the development and execution of Community Outreach and DEI initiatives requiring constant communication with internal external organizations
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies and procedures
- Monitors FMLA and other leaves of absence
- Supports operations by attending line walks, conducting safety inspections and 6S initiatives

Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor&39;s degree in Human Resources or Business or equivalent experience required
- Minimum three years of Human Resources experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Microsoft Office knowledge, intermediate to expert required
- Experience with timekeeping and payroll preferred
- PHR and / or SHRM-CP Certifications preferred
- Must have superior communication skills and be a collaborative, team player
- Must have a passion for continuous improvement
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
- Must be able to work flexible schedule when needed to support 24/7 operation
Physical Requirements
General office environment requiring ability to:
- Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
