Reports directly to Human Resource Supervisor
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Labor Management/Business Psychology or Social Services with specialization in Human Resources.
Personal Characteristics:
Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
Work Experience:
1-3 years Human Resources experience in manufacturing operation preferred.
Principal Area of Responsibility:
Under general supervision, the Human Resources Representative provides daily HR support to the facility in compliance with all federal state and local regulations. This support includes but is not limited to: recruiting hourly employees to meet plant staffing requirements, including compliance with affirmative action plan requirements and I 9’s. This individual is also responsible for the new hire onboarding process, including orientation, benefits administration, and employee record keeping in the office.
Specific Duties:
- Recruit qualified candidates for all hourly and non-exempt salaried positions to meet plant production requirements. Maintain tracking and reporting system.
- Build and maintain all hourly and salaried employee files. Communicate with payroll, training and divisional headquarters as required.
- Administer and manage the company’s employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries about benefits, providing guidance on eligibility, enrollment, and usage.
- Provide general HR support and assistance with other HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
- Utilizing best recruiting practices, reduce plant turnover and overall recruiting costs.
- Administer hourly and salary benefit programs including orientation, registration, record keeping, communication and problem troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with other members of the HR team as well as other departments.
- Stay current on changes to laws and regulations related to benefits, leave, worker’s compensation, and employee relations.
- Maintain positive employee relations by cooperating with customers, co-workers and management.
- Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
