Contract Position

Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) and install Modification Work Orders (MWOs) on Abrams Tanks (M1A1ED, M1A2 SEP V2, and V3).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle systems, subsystems, and components using technical manuals and diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accountability for special tools, test equipment, and property.
- Adhere to safety and operational procedures while working in field and shop environments.
- Support fielding, retrofit, and maintenance activities at Fort Cavazos and other locations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of general mechanical maintenance experience, preferably on Abrams Tanks.
- Clearance: Ability to gain access to U.S. military facilities and obtain a NACI clearance if required.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with Abrams Tank systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with tools and test equipment for military vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and flow diagrams.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, work at heights, climb, and operate in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Must meet anthropometric requirements (ASR) for entry into the driver’s station or enclosed military vehicle.
- Licensing & Travel:
- Valid state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a tank driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support maintenance and fielding operations.
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work independently alongside government personnel.
- Experience performing maintenance and MWOs on Abrams Tank variants (M1A1 SA, M1A2 SEP V2, SEP V3).
- Must be a U.S. person.
