Ryanair is currently recruiting a Head of Communications for the Italian Market to join Europes largest airline group.

This is an excellent time to join Ryanair as we continue to grow to over 800 aircraft and 300m passengers per year by 2034. 

This role will be responsible for driving media coverage for Ryanair in Italy in support of our key business objectives.The successful candidate will be based in Italy (close to one of Ryanair’s operational bases) and will be required to travel regularly, both within the spanet as well as to Ryanair’s Dublin HQ, where they will work closely with our Senior Management and C-suite.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and deliver Ryanair’s communications strategy for Italy. 
• Drive high quality media coverage on Ryanair’s key messages in mainstream Italian media.
• Build and maintain active relationships with local stakeholders including media, tourist boards and airports.
• Spokesperson duties, including representing Ryanair at press conferences, speaking events and in media interviews.
• Prepare press releases, media responses, and other press materials.
• Brief senior management and C-suite ahead of media engagements.
• Advise the business on local messaging and spanet intelligence.
• Manage Ryanair’s PR agency in Italy.
• Support with translations (written & verbal).

• Must be fluent in both Italian and English (written & verbal).
• At least 5 years Public Relations/Communications experience (in-house or agency). 
• Extensive knowledge of the Italian media landscape and strong mainstream media contacts.
• Confident communicator and presenter.
• Strong critical thinking.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Experience working in an agile, fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proven track record in aviation and/or travel industry an advantage.
