JOB DESCRIPTION:
Scheduling Analyst
As a Scheduling Analyst, you will support the development and optimization of AirAsia’s and/or AirAsia X’s flight schedules by translating complex scheduling strategies, operational constraints, and network objectives into clear, data-driven insights and executive ready presentations.
This role is hands on and analytical, with a strong focus on slide creation, workflow documentation, data interpretation, and cross-functional coordination. You will act as a key bridge between technical scheduling outputs and business stakeholders across the organization.
WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:
Schedule Analysis & Strategy Translation
Analyze short-term and long-term flight schedules for operational feasibility, efficiency, and alignment with network and commercial objectives.
Convert technical scheduling concepts (aircraft routings, turn times, buffers, curfews, utilization, constraints) into clear decks, visuals, and narratives for management and cross functional teams.
Support scenario analysis for fleet changes, network adjustments, special events, and disruptions.
Data Interpretation & Insights
Interpret scheduling, utilization, and performance data to identify risks, opportunities, and trade offs.
Develop dashboards, charts, and summaries to support decision-making on schedule changes, aircraft deployment, and operational priorities.
Assist in revenue supportive analysis by aligning schedules with demand patterns, seasonality, holidays, and special events.
Workflow & Process SupportDocument and maintain scheduling workflows, assumptions, timelines, and dependencies across planning horizons.
Support the transition of schedules from planning to execution by ensuring accuracy, version control, and alignment across systems and stakeholders.
Assist in post-implementation reviews to capture learnings and improve future schedule builds.
Inventory & Schedule Publication SupportSupport the uploading, validation, and updating of schedules in the Schedule Manager (Navitaire New Skies).
Coordinate closely with the Preflight and OCC teams during schedule changes and rescheduling activities to ensure data consistency and operational readiness.
Cross-Functional CoordinationAct as a coordination point between Scheduling and key stakeholders including: Network Planning, Route Revenue & Commercial, OCC, Flight Operations, Engineering, Regulatory, Ancillary, Marketing
Ensure schedule changes, assumptions, and impacts are clearly communicated and understood across teams.
Stakeholder Communication & PresentationPrepare management ready presentations for internal reviews, planning forums, and decision gates.
Support clear communication of schedule intent, constraints, and trade-offs to both technical and non technical audiences.
Ensure alignment and transparency across departments on upcoming schedule changes.

You have strong analytical skills and are comfortable working with complex datasets, schedules, and operational constraints.
You spot inconsistencies quickly and care deeply about accuracy and logic.
Strong Communicator & StorytellerYou can turn technical detail into simple, compelling slides that executives actually understand.
You’re confident explaining “why” behind the numbers, not just presenting them.
Airline-SavvyYou have 2-5 years of experience in airline planning, scheduling, network, operations, or a related analytical role.
You understand how scheduling decisions impact revenue, operations, and customer experience even if you’re not the final decision maker. Not a must but good to have.
Organized & Process-OrientedYou’re comfortable juggling multiple timelines, versions, and stakeholders without dropping the ball.
You like building structures where things are messy.
Collaborative & AdaptableYou work well across departments and can hold your own with Network, OCC, Engineering, and Commercial teams.
You stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly when plans change (because they always do).
Ethical & ProfessionalYou operate with integrity, transparency, and respect for governance, regulatory, and safety requirements.
