The ideal candidate is highly proficient at copywriting and creative development, proofreading and can manage multiple projects at a time from concept through to completion. They understand how to communicate the Air Canada Cargo and Air Canada brand in in digital, print, email, social media, advertising, editorial, merchandise, and more. They understand the importance of paying attention to detail and are extremely organized. The are comfortable with technical, operational, and creative subject matter and communication. This role is expected to be hands-on and will be responsible for creative studio project management and resourcing alongside the Creative Designer - Cargo. Responsibilities:
Create insightful original spaneting copy that reinforces Air Canada Cargo’s brand voice and complements the creative visual solutions, format types to include but not limited to print, digital, editorial, social media, and events-related.Effectively communicate and collaborate with the designer and internal partners to ensure that copy is on brief, on brand voice and considers business objectives and requirementsEnsuring brand consistency across all content streamsWork collaboratively with the team on concept development and creative solutions to ensure maximum impactManage multiple projects at a time from concept through to completionGenerate multiple concepts for a campaign or project Proofread all creative before deployment Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, sales, brand teams and other internal and external partners to acquire research when needed to begin the creative processEnsure copy is factually correct and meets brand standards by working directly with product owners, subject matter experts, legal and spaneting groupsReceive and implement feedback with a positive attitudeInterpret, gain and communicate insights on competitor activity to inform messaging directionProvide quality control over projects to ensure brand voice consistencyIf required for special projects: manage freelance resources/vendors as required to complete projects on time, budget and strategyContribute to the development of the studio through innovation and recommendations for improving efficiencyParticipate and lead brainstorming sessionsSupport the development of the global brand guidelines, providing key assets and setting the guardrails for local adaptation, including defining the fix and flex elements of the systemMonitor key themes and issues relevant to Air Canada Cargo, Air Canada, logistics, aviation and industry in order to create informed creative solutionsContinuously fill the funnel of new ideas – understand and make recommendations on how to turn spaneting briefs into compelling brand-building spaneting executionsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications3-5+ years of experience brand-side or creative agency settingA graduate/postgraduate degree in the field and a strong copywriting and advertising portfolioExperience in B2B through-the-line spaneting channels, including print, digital, video, trade shows/events, and social media channelsSelf-starter who shows initiative and innovation from concept to completionDemonstrated and extraordinary communication and writing skills and meticulous eye for detailAbility to familiarize yourself with technical or industry topics in a timely mannerDeftly manage and appreciate constructive criticismStrong Interpersonal and oral communication skills Exceptional time-management skills and ability to prioritize workloadMust be passionate about global logistics, operations, supply chain and B2B communicationsMust be keenly interested in overall creative and digital ecosystemAble to present concepts and be a team player to achieve the correct copywriting solutionStrong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision and under tight deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft Office programs Word, PowerPoint and ExcelThough this is a copywriting role, experience and proficiency with design software and the ability to assist with design projects should it be needed, is considered a plusAgency experience is considered a plusDemonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
