We are actively seeking a skilled CMM Programmer and Operator with extensive experience in using both Calypso and PC-DMIS software. This is a non-exempt full-time assignment, located in Torrance CA, and report to the Director of Quality.
The successful candidate will apply advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and metrology principles to program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), specifically the Zeiss Contura G2, ensuring products meet all specifications and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program CMMs using Calypso and PC-DMIS software to conduct precise and efficient inspections aligned with product specifications.
- Collaborate closely with quality assurance, manufacturing, and engineering teams to maintain accurate setups and programs.
- Provide training to CMM machine operators and address any questions or issues related to CMM operations.
- Work on special projects involving tooling fixtures and gauges alongside manufacturing engineers.
- Implement and uphold robust quality assurance processes to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with aerospace and company quality standards.
- Offer technical guidance and support to junior quality assurance personnel and CMM operators.
- Stay informed on the latest industry advancements, technologies, and best practices in CMM programming and quality assurance.
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other related materials to ensure accuracy in measurements and inspections.
- Revise and optimize programs for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
- Promote a "Built-in Quality" culture by identifying non-conformances and preventing defects from reaching downstream customers.
