Under the direction of the assigned site administrator, the CTE Aviation Teacher will develop and deliver a rigorous, hands-on aviation curriculum aligned with California CTE standards. This includes instruction in both manned and unmanned flight systems, flight simulation, aviation safety, aeronautics, and FAA Part 107 certification prep.

Major Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging aviation instruction, including manned and unmanned flight (drones), using project-based learning and industry-standard technologies.
- Operate and teach with flight simulators, drone equipment, and aviation software.
- Prepare students for FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.
- Develop student understanding of aviation safety, communication, navigation, weather, and aerodynamics.
- Establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment focused on professionalism, employability skills, and teamwork.
- Integrate real-world aviation experiences and maintain connections with industry partners and post-secondary institutions.
- Maintain records of student achievement and progress; communicate regularly with parents and counselors.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and CTE program development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry experience in aviation, aerospace, or flight operations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) or Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII).
- Remote pilot experience and/or certification.
- Ability to teach drone operations and FAA Part 107 content.
- Experience with flight simulation platforms.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
