The Boeing Defense, Space and Security, Phantom Works division is seeking an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Composites / Special Materials Fabrication) in Mesa, AZ.
Position Responsibilities
Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build
Leads and implements manufacturing build plans and work instructions
Ensures BOMs are developed and ordered for materials to arrive on time
Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices
Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions. Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule
Develops illustrated planning from UG/NX CAD models
Validates and ensures production readiness of advanced manufacturing processes to meet rate requirements with high first pass quality
Implements Lean Manufacturing principles and technologies
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
2+ years of experience in composites fabrication
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Experience in aerospace manufacturing and associated tooling, inspection and testing methodologies with emphasis on large scale prototyping applications
Experience with Model Based Engineering tools
Experience with creation of manufacturing planning and authoring assembly work instructions
Experience with aerospace new product development and prototyping
Experience with NX/Unigraphics CAD and Teamcenter PDM systems for design interrogation, manufacturing planning development and tooling design review
Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles in a production system
2 years of experience in planning and developing product quality by applying APQP and PFMEA
Experience leading and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor
3+ years of experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering

Level 2: $85,000 - $115,000
Level 3: $103,700 - $140,300
