STS Technical Services is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support a growing manufacturing operation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the production floor, solving real-time challenges, and helping engineered-to-order products move efficiently from concept to completion.
You will play a hands-on role supporting daily production, improving processes, and collaborating across engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing teams.
Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer supports day-to-day production and technical activities related to engineered-to-order products. This position focuses on process improvement, documentation, production support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily production and resolve technical issues related to engineered-to-order products
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures capturing current production processes
- Implement safety, ergonomic, and production rate improvements
- Develop, audit, and continuously improve department quality and production goals
- Serve as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators
- Read and interpret technical drawings and customer requirements
- Create manufacturing plans that meet customer specifications
- Utilize ERP software to guide production processes and cost tracking
- Work directly with production departments to ensure strong process flow
- Identify and support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Industrial Engineering on projects and process optimization
- Support customer requirements with a focus on quality and on-time delivery
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Ability to quickly become familiar with manufacturing processes
- Interest in working primarily in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities
- Ability to read and understand technical prints and specifications
- Comfortable working independently and within cross-functional teams
- Interest or experience using ERP software in a manufacturing environment
- Entry-level to three years of manufacturing or engineering experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related field preferred
- Ability to sign non-compete and confidentiality agreements
- Must pass a competency test and pre-employment physical, including drug screening
