Position Summary:
AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Plattsburgh, NY that combines more than 150 years of experience in designing and manufacturing school and Commercial Buses. The Girardin vision has nurtured the company to become an institution known for its quality, reliability, and customer service.
A Chassis Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation, storage, and handling of vehicle chassis at offsite locations.
Essential Functions:
- Transport chassis and their components from offsite locations to the manufacturing plant using company trucks, trailers, or other transportation methods. Ensure all chassis and parts are securely loaded to avoid damage during transit.
- Manage the offsite storage of chassis, ensuring they are stored in an organized manner and are easily accessible for transport to the manufacturing facility when needed. Maintain accurate records of stored chassis, quantities, and delivery schedules.
- Load and unload chassis at offsite locations, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols are followed. Operate forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment as necessary to ensure efficient loading and unloading processes.
- Monitor and update inventory levels of chassis and their components at offsite locations. Maintain accurate records of all materials, including quantities, conditions, and locations. Report any discrepancies, damaged items, or shortages promptly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while transporting and handling chassis.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Lifts heavy objects by hand, and maintains cleanliness of work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds.
