  • Promote teamwork, clear communication, and a positive, safety-focused culture across the workshop.
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating professional conduct, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Actively perform hands-on GSE maintenance and repair work for approximately two-thirds of the working time.
  • Implement established processes and procedures using SAP and other systems to manage the workshop work package effectively.
  • Plan and allocate resources and manpower in coordination with management to meet operational needs and deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate stock management by determining, ordering, and controlling required resources such as spare parts and office supplies.
  • Provide management with insights on planning feasibility, highlighting potential bottlenecks and proposing practical solutions.
  • Identify and visualize planned maintenance activities and outstanding issues using available systems and tools.
  • Monitor the progress of maintenance and disruption-related work, tracking standard times, bottlenecks, backlog, and feasibility within the given mandate.
  • Assist team members in compiling and presenting production figures and quality data for operational review.
  • Create, review, evaluate, and sign inspection lists to ensure maintenance activities meet required standards.
  • Implement contingency procedures to manage unexpected events and minimize operational disruption.
  • Ensure safety of all stakeholders in the workshop, yard, and airside areas by enforcing safety rules and procedures.
  • Report on safety, quality, and performance metrics, and support formal quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of an OHSA-friendly working environment by actively participating in and encouraging additional safety education.
  • Use MS Office 365 and related systems to complete administrative tasks, reporting, and communication.
  • Collaborate with management and other departments to manage change, resolve conflicts, and continuously improve workshop operations.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of hands-on GSE (Ground Support Equipment) maintenance experience.
  • 3–5 years of leadership or management experience in a workshop, maintenance, or similar operational environment.
  • Expert in GSE maintenance and repair, including mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, air pressure, air conditioning/refrigeration units, and electrical systems (preferred but highly relevant).
  • Proven ability to make complex decisions under pressure while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Strong stress resistance and resilience in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and OHSA-friendly working practices.
  • Experience assisting with or implementing formal quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership skills, including facilitating teamwork, communicating a clear vision, effective delegation, managing change, managing conflict, and directing others.
  • Ability to act as a role model and foster a collaborative, team-oriented communication style.
  • Drive for excellence and continuous improvement in workshop performance.
  • Good MS Office 365 skills for reporting, planning, and communication.
  • Experience with GSE management, shop management, supervision, and GSE maintenance operations.
  • Technical knowledge related to diesel-powered equipment and ground support equipment systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with SAP or similar maintenance and resource management systems.
  • Experience in GSE supervision and shop management in an aviation or industrial environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage work packages, resources, and stock effectively.
  • Ability to clearly visualize and communicate maintenance planning and outstanding issues to stakeholders.
  • Capability to support the creation and interpretation of production and quality data.
  • Willingness to attend additional safety education and training beyond the minimum requirements.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage with technicians, management, and customers.
  • Comfort working in an environment that includes both hands-on technical work and office-based administrative tasks.
