Job Summary
Direct all aspects of the day-to-day Ground Handling operations in Canada to ensure efficiency and performance in accordance with the corporate objectives, strategy and plans.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee, monitor and evaluate the operation’s performance.
- Lead and support the organizations goals on growth and revenue targets.
- Support standardization and a KPI driven culture to optimize efficiencies and control costs.
- Direct the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment and systems or other assets and resources.
- Monitor and oversee quality and safety procedures to ensure they are in line with Swissport’s International safety and quality standards.
- Drive overall efficiency and cost management through promoting and driving projects such as Swissport Formula, Productivity Improvement Initiatives, Performance Management and Process Re-engineering initiatives.
- Support the implementation of new Technologies to drive cost reduction through automation.
- Support the Commercial leaders Manager with customers and partners relations.
- Lead, guide, evaluate and develop a team with operational responsibilities to increase organizational effectiveness and create cost efficiencies.
- Ensure implementation, maintenance and effectiveness of the Swissport Management System throughout their areas of responsibility.
- Provide adequate resources to fulfil QHSE and security related requirements and maintain a safe working environment in all clusters.
Key Performance Indicators
- Operational KPIs (productivity, workforce utilization (overtime), OTP, Check-in waiting times, baggage delivery times).
- Safety KPIs (A/C damages, damages to GSE & Infrastructure, occupational accidents).
- Financial performance (revenue, DL/R, EBITDA, EBIT, EBIT margin).
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelors degree with a relevant finance qualification.
- Minimum 10 years experience in Operations and 5 years in a leadership position.
- Advanced understanding of financial measures and labour law and regulations.
- Fluency in English, other languages (Fluency in French as well would be an advantage).
- Ability to build strategic relationships in the field and influence change.
- Solid strategic analysis, problem solving, issue resolution and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to communicate with all levels of management in a multicultural environment.
- Strong understanding of internal customer and external spanet dynamics.
- Proven experience of leading teams and getting results in a multi-cultural environment.
- Personal and professional integrity of the highest order.
