Rotorwing Aviation Program Manager: Performs professional level program management work on large, complex aviation programs from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Manages multiple and/or large programs to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
- Manages the work activities for multiple programs to ensure satisfying delivery.
- Manages the planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery.
- Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepares reports to senior management.
- Responsible for managing activities of external consultants and/or vendors.
- In-depth understanding of the fields concepts and principles.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
- Supervision may be provided through a team of subordinate supervisors and/or managers.
- Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
- Manages all aspects of one or multiple projects/programs through initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing project/program.
- Monitors processes, progress and results.
- Determines objectives, sets priorities, delegates work, and provides others with clear direction.
- Performs professional level project/program management work on large, complex, multi-disciplinary programs from inception to completion, including organizing, administering, and monitoring one or more programs simultaneously.
- Acts as primary program support for customer inquiries and program execution.
- Coordinates with various departments, including operations, maintenance, security, and customer service, to ensure seamless program implementation.
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in all customer contact and team activities.
- Serves as the main or major point of contact for coordination with major stakeholders through the entire life cycle of the program ensuring seamless stakeholder/customer operations.
- Prepare and present regular updates and reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrates effective program management skills on programs and projects to ensure communications, scope, effort, milestones/schedule, risk management, and strategy are aligned with program initiatives, business model, and customer relationships.
- May lead product or service definition and creation of technical proposals and related documentation.
- Negotiates requirements with customer; documents/disseminates for internal stakeholders.
- Sets/updates program policies and procedures.
- May act as lead on a large and complex programs across different groups.
- Leads in creation and maintenance of program-specific Statement of Works (SOWs).
- Leads special projects as assigned.
- Performs technical spanet research in support of product or service for business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Ability to travel for customer support, business development, and training.
- 5 years of experience in Aviation Program Management managing multiple projects.
- Typically requires BA and 8-10 years.
