Repair Station Supervisor
The repair station supervisor will be responsible for supervising Repair & Overhaul (R&O) technicians in the Afterspanet Organization. Ensure that the team achieves contractual turn-around-time in repairs and customer satisfaction goals and maintains quality within cost objectives. Carry out duties in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable FAA regulations. The supervisor will also be responsible for hiring, and training hourly employees; planning, assigning, and directing the hourly workforce; appraising performance, providing positive reinforcement and/or administering discipline as required; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and providing the leadership to continually upgrade the skill level of the organization.
Essential Task and Responsibilities:
- Takes actions necessary to resolve day-to-day issues and conflicts; analyzes discrepancy reports, rework orders, trouble reports and other problems to make sure the team meets its goals.
- Assigns work to meet completion dates. Assists management in determining whether additional personnel and resources are needed to meet repair goals with tight deadlines.
- Ensures maximum utilization of individual skills, equipment and materials by providing guidance, training and direction to employees. Makes hire and termination decisions and conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews utilizing appropriate human resources policies and procedures. Manages employee performance issues, progressive discipline, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Evaluates and recommends changes in methods or procedures in assigned areas of responsibility to increase efficiency. Implements improvements in work flow and methods.
- Works with manager in determining budget needs and justifying expenses.
- Participates and leads Lean Management events (Kaizens) to improve processes or work stations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Previous experience with planning, scheduling, and reviewing the work and performance of subordinates.
- Experience in a supervisory role in a repair & overhaul or production environment.
- Good knowledge of modern production methods, practices and equipment, 5S, and computer systems.
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent communication skills.
- Must be computer literate and proficient within a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from technical and management groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within a 14 CFR 145 Repair Station or equivalent military experience.
- Must possess a current working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (CFR-145), EASA-145 and CCAR-145 or be able to acquire this knowledge quickly upon assignment into the role.
- Knowledge of Oracle.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and build teamwork and cohesion between departments and groups within the organization.
- Must be able to support customer and regulatory authority on site audits and visits and represent Crane in a very positive and professional manner.
- Possess or be able to attain a CFR-145 Repairman’s Certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Salary range: $117,353.60 - $148,449.60 Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
