Project Manager
47 - 63.40 per hour
Morson are currently recruiting for multiple Project Manager opportunities for one of our prestigious defence clients based in Filton. You will be managing the delivery of strategic projects contributing to complex defence deliveries ranging from software to engineering. You will be responsible for planning projects, devising standards maintaining project plans, creating schedules and leading steering boards. We’re looking for an experienced project manager with a background in a highly regulated environment such as Defence, Nuclear or Aerospace.
This role is being offered on an initial 12-month contract; hybrid remote with 2 days a week on site in Filton. We can pay a rate of 47 per hour PAYE or 63.40 per hour Umbrella inside IR35.
Responsibilities
- Deliver complex defence projects to deadlines and allocated budgets.
- Develop and maintain Project Plans.
- Project reporting & scheduling.
- Manage the full project lifecycle.
- Manage risks to the success of the project.
- Support implementation of appropriately tailored PM practices.
- Creating realistic schedules for delivery.
- Leading steering boards to keep important stakeholders up to date with developments.
Requirements
- Experience as a Project Manager within a highly regulated industry such as Defence, Aerospace or Nuclear.
- Able to create and manage project plans, develop project schedules and lead steering boards.
- A PM Qualification such as the APM Project Management Qualification or a varied experience as a Project Manager.
- Knowledge of PM policies, processes, procedures and systems.
- Experience of PM governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs).
- Problem solving skills, taking requirements and data from internal and external sources.
- Experience of working in a Hybrid Matrix organisation.
- Knowledge of software delivery and the structures required.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
