Role Introduction
Reports to: Head of IT Digital Workplace and Network
This role is responsible for the implementation of programmes of work that drive the achievement of Information Management’s business objectives by supervising groups of projects. You will formulate the strategy in order to guide the teams and project managers in ways that promote the company’s culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing key business stakeholders to understand the programme vision and translate vision into readily understandable interim goals and results
- Accountable for the planning and coordination activities of enterprise business and technology projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished to a defined quality and within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
- Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, sourcing approach, delivery method, dependencies, quality approach, procedures for accomplishing projects, negotiate staffing requirements to various project phases
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive business and technology innovation to achieve business unit’s strategic plan and business objectives
- Manage the dynamic project team of individuals. Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle
- Foster a continuous learning and cross-team knowledge sharing culture among delivery groups. Provide coaching/mentoring to other project managers and promote knowledge sharing of project management best practice
- Collaborate with Project Practice Manager to implement project management practice across all IT projects. Adopt necessary standards and best practices for programme/project management and ensure compliance.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in technology, ensure timely exploration and proactively communicate IT’s position towards the introduction of relevant / key emerging programme methodologies
- Can produce relevant project documentation that is sufficient for purpose, properly versioned, made easily accessible to the project team, and approved in a timely manner. Documentation requirements are primarily determined by the Project Delivery Life Cycle and specific Business Unit.
Requirements
- Degree qualifications in Information Technology, Business or related area
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience with at least 2 years in IT programme management role
- Proven experience in managing large scale projects with ability to multitask and manage multiple medium to large projects in a cross-functional environment
- Detailed knowledge of the following disciplines: project and program delivery, portfolio management, change management, application development management, infrastructure development management, vendor management, , service transition and cutover planning
- Technical proficiency in hardware and system software, as well as experience implementing packages and working with vendors
- Experienced in conceptualising creative solutions, as well as documenting and presenting/selling them to senior management
- Professional programme / project management certification would be an advantage
- Experienced in Agile project delivery
