The right candidate for this role has a growth mindset and experience in revealing insights by navigating loyalty, commercial, and financial data. They will lead a team that delivers centralized data analytics, reporting, and insights to drive revenue and profit for both Customer Engagement & Loyalty and Delta as a whole. They will lead and perform some of the following:
  • Design and develop automated reporting capabilities across the Delta American Express Cobrand Card portfolio, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Ancillary Travel Products
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and identify key insights on loyalty data that supports business decisioning across the organization
  • Partner with an international team (based at the Delta Technology Hub in Bangalore, India) to build predictive member behavior models through machine learning and other advanced data models
  • Partner with Delta American Express Cobrand team on acquisition campaigns by developing campaign strategies and post-campaign analysis
  • Regularly communicate loyalty-related trends and opportunity areas with team, partners, and senior leaders through both written and verbal communication
  • Lead and participate in cross-divisional initiatives that require loyalty performance and insights support; provide a customer-centered view to partners

This is a critical leadership role on Delta’s Loyalty team. This leader will collaborate with other leaders across multiple organizations to deliver on our Loyalty goals and support Delta’s broader customer and profitability objectives. This role is Atlanta-based. This role reports to the General Manager of Performance and Insights.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Experience in extracting datasets and identifying key insights to support business decisions
  • Advanced expertise with SQL and working knowledge of analytical tools such as SAS, Teradata, PowerBI, Tableau, and advanced Excel functionality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate data into insights for executive and cross-enterprise consumption (deckbuilding, presentations, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Delta Air Lines and/or the airline industry, loyalty programs and consumer behavior
  • Solid track record of successfully working across departments and delivering results on time
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Delta Commercial experience and acumen in Loyalty, Network, RM, Sales, or Alliances and an understanding of the airline business model and customer needs
  • Familiarity with Delta’s internal data sources such as RPAD, DDS, OAG, FLOYD, FPS, etc.
  • Working knowledge of statistical/machine learning tools (e.g., R, TensorFlow)
  • Leadership role managing and building data and analytics capabilities with external strategic partners to drive customer value and profitability
  • Understanding of the broader, enterprise-wide impact of Loyalty decisions
  • Bachelors degree or 3+ years of analytical experience. Masters degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related)
