Manager, Government Relations
OVERVIEW:
YOUR ROLE AS A Manager, Government Relations
This role is responsible for playing a strategic role in shaping aviation regulations and sustainability policies in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), and other relevant authorities. This role will focus on advancing green aviation policies, engaging in regulatory advocacy, and driving public-private partnerships (PPPs) that support the airline’s long-term sustainability strategy.
WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:
Strengthening Government and Regulatory Relationships
Develop and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, aviation regulators (CAAT, AOT, MOT), and environmental authorities (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment,Department of Climate Change and Environment)
Advocate for aviation policies that balance regulatory compliance with sustainable growth
Act as the primary liaison between Thai AirAsia and authorities to ensure alignment on sustainability and aviation policy initiatives
Shaping Sustainability Policy for Thai Aviation
Lead discussions with government stakeholders to develop sustainability frameworks for aviation, including carbon reduction strategies, green airport initiatives, and eco- friendly airline operations.
Work closely with regulators to influence Thailand’s Sustainable Aviation Policy, including carbon offset programs, SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) incentives, and emission reduction standards.
Policy Advocacy and Regulatory Affairs
Work closely with Thai AirAsia’s Sustainability department to develop sustainability frameworks and goals for shaping policy with the relevant authorities
Conduct research and policy analysis on aviation sustainability regulations, carbon neutrality goals, and global environmental best practices
Develop advocacy decks and policy papers to influence sustainable aviation regulation, carbon credit mechanisms, and tax incentives for green aviation investments
Engage in legislative discussions on aviation policies that impact Thai AirAsia’s operations and sustainability goals.
Driving Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Initiatives
Identify and develop Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects that align with Thai AirAsia’s sustainability and regulatory goals
Collaborate with airports, government agencies, and private sector stakeholders to implement projects such as
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) adoption and production partnerships
Carbon offset programs and reforestation initiatives
Smart airport infrastructure with energy-efficient technology
Green supply chain initiatives with aviation authorities
Build funding proposals and work with external stakeholders to secure grants and investment incentives for sustainable aviation projects
Communication and Presentation
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to government officials, aviation regulators, and industry stakeholders on Thai AirAsia’s sustainability initiatives and policy recommendations
Draft position papers and policy briefs to support the company’s advocacy efforts
Represent Thai AirAsia in public forums, sustainability conferences, and industry events
WHO YOU ARE:
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Environmental Policy, Business Administration, Law, Aviation Management, or a related field
Skill in Government and Policy Expertise - Strong understanding of aviation sustainability regulations, environmental policies, and public-private partnership models
Analytical Thinking – Ability to conduct in-depth policy impact assessments and regulatory research
Strategic and Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to develop policy strategies and practical solutions to regulatory and sustainability challenges
Presentation and Communication Skills – Proven ability to create and deliver high-impact advocacy materials and reports
AI and Digital Skills – Experience using AI-driven data analysis for sustainability forecasting and regulatory tracking
Negotiation and Stakeholder Engagement – Strong interpersonal skills to influence policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders
Team Collaboration – Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multi-stakeholder projects
Can work at Don Mueang International Airport and others as a business assignment.

In this role, you’ll work in developing and executing policies and strategies to drive an aviation regulations and sustainability policies in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment
