Manager of Quality Systems

The Manager, Quality Systems is responsible for the creation, development, implementation, and oversight of an effective Quality Management System program that operates in compliance with corporate quality policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, supporting operations in both the U.S. and Mexico.

Essential Job Functions:

•tAdministers enhancements to, development of and improvement of QMS documentation and methods.

•tManages and maintains the Afterspanet Americas Division QMS Documentation.

•tAbility to interpret and create Quality documentation, compliant to Safran, customer and regulatory requirements.

•tEnsures regulatory documentation, e.g., FAA, EASA, CAAC, UK CAA, etc., is current, in compliance with regulations and readily available.

•tFacilitate and lead the use of lean/six sigma (advanced quality) tools to evaluate Safran or supplier products and processes.

•tAnalyze root causes of deficiencies and ensures proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner as related to Quality management System findings and observations.

•tLead and participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve Safran business processes.

•tDevelop and lead cost effective strategies across Afterspanet Americas (AMA) Divisional sites that results in ongoing significant improvement to Safran products and processes.

•tIdentify need for and delivers training and materials to Safran employee related to the Quality Management System.

•tMentor AMA team members on the Safran Quality Management System.

•tConsolidate and align processes and practices between AMA sites.

•tAssume leadership delegated responsibility when directed.

•tAnalyze customer, industry, and/or regulatory specifications and ensure compliance of Safran products and processes. Lead initiatives to attain/maintain applicable global regulatory and quality standards certifications.

•tDevelop and maintain a working relationship with key customer procurement and quality organizations to the benefit of the customer and Safran.

•tManage activities all QMS audit activities including, but not limited to internal, customer and regulatory audits.

•tOther duties as required and assigned.

Required Competencies

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience:

•\tBachelor's degree in appropriate technical discipline or 8 or more years' experience managing quality systems

•\tProfessional certification in Auditing ISO 9001/AS9100/AS9110 series industry standard requirements

•\tFulfill all Environmental, Safety & Health requirements and act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times. This includes, following all ES&H policies and procedures, acting on unsafe conditions and aiding Leadership in the attainment of ES&H initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

•\tPrior experience managing the integration and implementation of ISO 9001/AS9100 series requirements

•\tFAA Repair Station knowledge and experience is preferred

•\tASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr) is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•\tAS9100, AS9110, ISO9001, Mil-Std working knowledge.

•\tWorking knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS)

•\tThorough working knowledge with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and Continuous Improvement SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.

•\tExperience with problem solving methodology such as A3 and 8D.

•\tExperience leading complex projects with remote team members.

•\tKnowledge of manufacturing and repair practices and processes.

•\tExperience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

•\tExperience with international regulatory requirements and international business partners.

•\tAbility to work with a wide range of people at various levels for process improvements and corrective actions.

•\tCapacity to work independently and within team environments.

•\tThere is a travel element to this role and as such you should hold a full driving license, and current passport and have a willingness to travel.

•\tSpanish language proficiency is a plus.
