Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join The Boeing Company in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team within the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) division. This role is critical in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce while promoting environmental stewardship at the Boeing Wichita Site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, fostering a culture of safety and sustainability. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the successful applicant will help drive initiatives that minimize environmental impact and enhance workplace safety, contributing to Boeings commitment to a sustainable future in aviation.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level and Senior.
Level 3 Position Responsibilities:
- Works with management and employees to initiate and facilitate interactive discussions for medical restrictions and qualifications
- Identifies crucial job functions and reasonable accommodations, reassignment processes and potential outcomes
- Works with third party administrators and Workers Compensation Administrators to assist with detailed claims management
- Performs analysis to ensure consistent placement decisions
- Facilitates employees return to work
- Documents, maintains and extracts employee case information and ensures data integrity and confidentiality
- Provides early intervention to injured or ill employees to prevent time loss from work
Level 4 Position Responsibilities:
- Advises employees and management on complex matters related to medical restrictions and qualifications
- Identifies essential job functions and reasonable accommodations, reassignment processes and potential outcomes
- Advises employees with complex matters related to working with third party administrators and Workers Compensation Administrators to assist with detailed claims management
- Provides consultation, education and training for disability management-related processes
- Oversees data integrity and confidentiality generated by others. Provides status reports to senior management and customers
- Leads and advises team members on the application of early intervention to injured or ill employees
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Reqirued years of experience in Worker’s Compensation, Vocational Rehabilitation, Disability Management, Reasonable Accommodation, Work-related injuries or Return to Work Programs
- Mid-Level (Level 3): 3 or more years
- Senior (Level 4): 5 or more years
- Experience developing and implementing process improvements
- Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime as needed to support production
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
- Proficient leading processes and teams with a servant leadership mindset
- Experience with medical confidentiality
- Experience with the administration, including case management, of reasonable accommodation process and disability related (e.g. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)) laws, policies and regulatory requirement
- Experience with government laws and regulation
Essential Duties and Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk/stand frequently per shift
- Ability to climb limited per shift
- Ability to sit frequently per shift
- Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 35 lbs.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as spanet and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range - Mid-Level (Level 3): $71,300 - $109,300
Summary Pay Range - Senior (Level 4): $93,100 - $142,750
