Founded in 1980, Hillsboro Aviation offers complete helicopter and airplane services comprised of five divisions: contract & charter, aircraft sales & management, service center, FBO, and parts sales. Serving domestic and international markets in the government, commercial, and private sectors, we proudly employ 85 talented individuals and operate 10 turbine aircraft out of our award-winning headquarters at the Portland-Hillsboro Airport (KHIO).

The Position
Hillsboro Aviation’s fixed-wing contract & charter division specializes in executive charter and aircraft management. Our company has flown over 1.2 million hours and routinely conducts missions for private, corporate, and government customers.
As the Airplane Management and Charter Specialist, you will report to the Director of Service Center and FBO, and will be responsible for leading day to day operations and providing an exceptional customer experience for our airplane management and executive charter customers.
Ideal candidates are engaging, energetic, and driven. We are looking for someone who can work independently within their areas of responsibilities under limited supervision. The right candidate also values a strong work ethic and optimistic attitude while maintaining a critical eye for detail and organization.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Due to the nature of aircraft management and on-demand charter operations, this position must adjust the work schedule to meet the needs of our customers. Work outside of normal business hours can typically be performed remotely.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage airplane flight operations, to include customer flight scheduling, pilot flight scheduling, coordination of recurrent pilot training, tracking and scheduling maintenance, logistics associated with management customers’ flights, brokerage of charter flights
- Research, analyze and monitor charter marketplace statistics regarding financial, technological, and demographic factors that affect Hillsboro Aviation charter and broker services
- Develop and execute short and long-term department goals and objectives that align with the company’s objectives and key results
- Prospect new customers for aircraft management and charter services
- Utilize IT platforms to provide quotes and leverage customer interaction tools for charter operations
- Maintain accurate records of customer interaction and sales funnel opportunities within the company’s CRM system (Hubspot)
- Provide outstanding customer support to charter clients, including flight scheduling, customer and broker coordination, and client flight amenities/services
- Travel as necessary to customer visits, conferences, and tradeshows, and in support of operations at the local, regional, national, and occasionally, international level
- Attend training events as required by Hillsboro Aviation and its customers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Licenses
- Must possess a US Passport and valid US driver’s license
- 5 years of aviation charter and aircraft management experience
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Negotiation experience
- General and Business Aviation experience
- Understanding of FAA compliance regulations
- Excellent customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Extensive knowledge of GA and corporate aircraft
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Part 135 leadership/program management experience
