Job Description:

Employee must maintain, modify and install the various components of aircraft sheet metal and composite. Rework, install and fabricate complex aircraft structural assemblies. Use of precision measuring devices, i.e; micrometer, ball gauges, dial calipers, scales and all other calibrated devices. Perform checks; carry out inspection and installation of components. Maintain documented records of work accomplished. Works from and to OEM planning, engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing specifications and procedures. Adheres to quality procedures and instructions both written and verbal. Notifies supervision of all malfunctions, defects and damages of material, equipment and/or product. Expected to keep all areas clean, neat and orderly. Perform visual and functional inspection of operations to ensure product meets all requirements and specifications. Assist in the development of co-workers by coaching and mentoring other mechanics. Assure final quality acceptance of installation and configuration of all components, i.e; rivets, fasteners, holes, sealant, torque and all other components that are applicable. Ability to perform mechanical functions in all of the following examples: precision drilling, close tolerance holes, reaming, countersinking, cold working of metal, installation of rivets and fasteners. Adhere to all company policies and safety programs. Identify planning errors.

In addition to the function, duties and responsibilities set forth above, the employee must also be able to be a working lead. Will be required to help less skilled mechanics in their area to complete daily job assignments. Must be a proactive mechanic on the floor that has a vested interest and desire through continuous improvement to help the assembly operations achieve site and company objectives in safety, quality, schedule, cost and growth. Assign jobs to mechanics in the area that align with performance objectives daily. Train less experienced mechanics on area tasks. Drive quality first time yield by being part of root cause corrective action process, performing inspections and self-inspection and validate work is ready to present to inspection and/or customer. Understand and ensure compliance with all program specifications. Coach mechanics in area when issues arise on safety, quality and performance. Be a member of the problem-solving process. Embrace 6S. Keep management informed of daily operating issues.

  • Know and understand company / department policies and safety procedures.
  • Understand the Repair Station Manuals to ensure products and processes meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.
  • Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the RSQM and OEM/Customer/Regulatory requirements.
  •   Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties.
  • Be proficient in the navigation and understanding of blueprints, technical manuals, and planning documents with minimal supervision.   
  • Clean, disassemble and identify components, with minimal supervision
  • Be able to perform precision drilling of close tolerance holes, reaming, countersinking, and installation of all types of fasteners.
  • Replacement and/or repair of nacelle bondments and inlet lipskins with normal supervision.
  • Assist and train less skilled mechanics in all aspects of their job functions.
  • Assist in the evaluation of components as needed.
  • Other duties as needed or as assigned.
Job Requirements:
      •  7 or more years of relevant experience, qualified to hold an FAA Repairman's certificate
      • Good written and verbal communication skills
      • Experience in spreadsheet, word processing internet software and ERP systems
      • Detail oriented with a strong knowledge of aircraft component repair procedures
      • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
      • Flexibility to work multiple projects simultaneously
      • Good interpersonal skills
