2nd shift: Monday-Friday; Start time can vary between noon-4pm (plus 8 work hours and 30 minutes lunch)

Job Summary:
The R&O Mechanical Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying repair and overhaul (R&O) electro-mechanical components, electro-mechanical assemblies, parts, equipment, and systems by applying principles of mechanical theory, basic electrical skills, engineering mathematics, testing, and physics.
Essential Functions:
- Read component maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematic drawings and engineering instructions for assembling and testing electro-mechanical units
- Test electro-mechanical units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment. Test, and maintain mechanical components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, using hand and power tools
- Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning components, using hand tools and soldering iron
- Perform repairs, maintenance and calibration of electro-mechanical assemblies per the Component Maintenance Manuals Write teardown reports and accurately record testing data and inspection results
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts
- Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment
- Provide user applications and engineering support and recommendations for new and existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades and enhancement
- Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy
- Supports Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI’s, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise
- Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment
- Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
- Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
Non-Essential Functions:
- Support customer visits
- Support internal and external audits
- Perform minimal work under a microscope or soldering

- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective repair and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of practical application of mechanical engineering, science, and technology including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions are normal for a repair station environment
- Repair operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- May require occasional travel to support customer
- Standing: 20 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
- Sitting: 80 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

Salary range:
Level II: $30.11 - $41.45
Level III: $35.68 - $47.12
Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
