What you can expect as a Lead Maintenance Inspector at West Star:
As a Lead Maintenance Inspector, you will manage the performance of operational quality control tasks and ensure adherence to the policies and procedures in the West Star Aviation, WSA Repair Station & Quality Control Manual, Customer Maintenance Programs, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS, including:
• Review technician assignments and sign-offs to ensure adherence to Roster and Repair Station Authorizations
• Perform front-line spot checks to verify compliance with AMM, RSQCM, and customer GMM guidelines
• Ensure Repair Station RQC and Operators RII requirements are properly identified, inspected, and documented
• Confirm engine run/taxi qualifications for assigned technicians
• Verify squawk completion and operational checks
• Conduct spot checks to assess technician proficiency
• Communicate and verify coordination with tech support
• Ensure compliance with customer MEL “M” procedures and Maintenance and Quality Standard Operating Procedures
• Perform final aircraft walk-around and release, focusing on areas affected by maintenance
• Notify customer via email upon aircraft release from West Star Aviation custody
• Confirm use of current and appropriate Technical Data (e.g., OEM manuals, bulletins, specifications)
• Enforce WSA RSQCM policies and procedures
• Oversee proper tagging, inspection, and identification of parts/components in real-time with maintenance
• Ensure customer requests are fulfilled per WSA standards
• Verify tech support involvement and documentation in Corridor corrective actions
• Monitor MX Net project status and updates
• Spot check Ramp App usage
• Execute functions authorized on the Repair Station Roster
• Reject non-compliant work per WSA RSQCM, customer programs, and FAA regulations
• Reject incomplete or improperly completed work submitted for RTS
• Extend the RTS line to prevent the release of aircraft with unresolved quality issues
• Reject inadequate corrective actions related to quality concerns
• Communicate effectively in English (spoken, written, and read)
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
