We are partnered with LAUNCH TEAMS, a well-respected commercial Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) solution provider to help them identify a Director of Maintenance for their Kansas operation. We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced DOM to lead and oversee the operations of their Part 145 activities based at IAB airport. This role involves ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, enhancing operational efficiency, and upholding the highest safety and quality standards. The DOM will be instrumental in driving the nose-to-tail modification and fleet modification programs for LAUNCH TEAMS’ clients.
Essential Duties:
As an essential maintenance provider for Tier 1 airlines, the Director of Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing the quality, engagement, and overall work being done by LAUNCH’s team on-site.
The Director of Maintenance will assess the qualifications of all maintenance employees before assigning work, reviewing training records, and previous experience. They should be certified under 14 CFR Part 65 and will be responsible for training, assisting, and supervising maintenance personnel according to LAUNCH RSM and customer procedures. They will ensure that all maintenance entries on maintenance forms and work orders used by the Repair Station are properly executed by the responsible mechanics. Furthermore, they will ensure that all maintenance is carried out in accordance with current maintenance manuals, manufacturers’ data, and/or other FAA-approved data.
Additionally, the Director of Maintenance will monitor the performance and complete proficiency appraisals of the assigned workgroup, evaluate vacation requests against scheduling/manpower requirements, and respond as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides managerial authority for all processes of the Maintenance Departments including Quality Department, Maintenance Control, Parts Department, Line Station Maintenance, Technical Support, Technical Publications, Maintenance Training, and Maintenance Records.
- Promotes safety throughout the organization as mandated through Company policies identified by executive management.
- Maintains overall authority and responsibility for the development and supervision of maintenance standards, personnel, and equipment.
- Provides overall authority for all aircraft technical standards and acceptable deviations from Company maintenance policies and procedures that are not detrimental to airworthiness.
- Monitors maintenance performance against Company policies, procedures, and standards, and provides recommendations to improve safety of operations and productivity of the entire operation.
- Establishes efficient and economical policies and procedures for the accomplishment of all maintenance.
- Ensures that adequate staffing, facilities, tooling, and equipment are available for maintenance.
- Responsible for the maintenance of aircraft, engines, and components in the manner prescribed by the manufacturers’ maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, ADs, Engineering Orders, and applicable CFRs.
- Responsible for the review and approval of employee expenses and invoicing related to maintenance operations.
- Manage operations in the most effective manner, eliminating waste, and improving productivity
- Provide coaching, counseling, and guidance to assigned work group
- Attend meetings as needed to discuss critical path areas, planned work, critical parts, and overall aircraft status
- Develop strong relationships with NIAR/WERX, ACFL, KMC, Boeing, Spirit, and any other IAB customer leadership and increase the size of Launch TEAMS projects at the location.
