Serve as deputy to the Automated Program Technician/Instructor, delivering expert advice, technical assistance, and training to the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) on the conceptualization, design, development, documentation, implementation, operation, training, and troubleshooting of modern aviation maintenance management information systems, with primary focus on the GOLDesp platform. Assist senior KAF officers and maintenance personnel by interpreting KAMP policies (4790.2 series), providing guidance on maintenance automation strategies, and acting as a key liaison between aviation maintenance teams and data processing/IT professionals. The role requires a robust dual background in aviation maintenance management and data processing/IT, with strong emphasis on instructional delivery and system support.
TASK REQUIREMENTS- Support and advise data processing/IT professionals on KAF aviation maintenance management functions, including work order processing, discrepancy tracking, configuration management, and data integrity within GOLDesp.
- Provide guidance to senior KAF maintenance management on applicable automation opportunities, best practices, and system capabilities to improve readiness and efficiency.
- Assist in or perform design analyst responsibilities within a self-
directed work group:
contribute to establishing standards, designing/configuring enhancements, testing, and implementing software solutions or updates in GOLDesp. - Coordinate effectively between the technical work group and KAF maintenance managers to align system capabilities with operational needs.
- Monitor program performance, system usage, and compliance using appropriate project management software, GOLDesp dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Offer technical advice and recommendations on short- and long-term proposals/studies related to aviation maintenance automation and GOLDesp enhancements.
- Perform system administration duties for KAF maintenance Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), including user access, configurations, backups, and security measures.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair executive computers, workstations, and personal computers; assist in setup, configuration, and optimization of PCs for KAF users.
- Develop, prepare, and deliver comprehensive training curriculum in accordance with KAMP requirements, including formal classroom instruction, on-the-job training (OJT), refresher courses, and user guides on GOLDesp features, hardware, software, and maintenance procedures.
- Support report generation, data analysis, and metrics interpretation to provide actionable insights for maintenance optimization and program improvement.
MINIMUM PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum of 10 years experience in an Aviation Maintenance Program (hands-on military aviation maintenance management preferred, with U.S. Navy/Marine Corps NAMP exposure highly desirable).
- Minimum of 10 years experience in data processing, IT systems support, software implementation, or related technical fields (experience with enterprise MRO systems like GOLDesp strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency with personal computer applications, hardware configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Formal training or certification in LAN/WAN administration preferred.
- Proven experience in report generation, data analysis, and metrics-driven decision support.
- Strong background in conducting formal classroom instruction and on-the-job training on computer hardware, software applications, and maintenance management systems.
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and associated tools required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in multicultural team environments and interface confidently with senior military personnel.
