Job Description:
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION
The A&P Mechanic is responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance, repair, and inspection on aircraft to ensure their safe operation. The role involves troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and adhering to industry standards and regulations. The A&P is expected to work with both hand tools and specialized equipment to maintain systems such as engines, avionics, hydraulics, and flight controls. Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work under pressure are essential for success in this role. The technician must stay current with technological advancements in aviation and regulatory requirements while ensuring the highest standards of aircraft performance and safety.

II. UNDERSTAND ESSENTIAL AND NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • A&Ps are directly responsible to the Regional Maintenance Manager as assigned, indirectly responsible to the Director of Maintenance/Maintenance Operations Director.
  • The A&P is responsible for ensuring that all company employees make safety the number one priority in all activities.
  • Actively participates in the companys Safety System and is familiar with the Safety policies, processes, and procedures.
  • A&Ps will be qualified and appropriately certificated for the work they perform.
  • A&Ps will immediately inform their supervisor of any discrepancies or unairworthy conditions found during performance of work assigned.
  • A&Ps are expected to be familiar with the Company Maintenance Procedures and their assigned duties will be accomplished in accordance with the policies and procedure therein.
  • A certificated A&P Mechanics may not exercise the privileges of his or her certificate and rating unless he or she understands the current instructions of the manufacturer and the maintenance manuals for the specific operation concerned.
  • When qualified, A&P Mechanics are authorized to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and alterations on Company equipment as required and make appropriate entries into Aircraft Logs for the work they perform.
  • Request aviation parts and supplies in order to maintain an adequate and orderly inventory of all stock items to ensure prompt repairs for operational readiness.
  • Maintains aircraft in airworthy conditions.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and professional manner.
  • Provide timely on call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
  • Performs inspections and repairs of aircraft and components utilizing applicable current maintenance manuals.
  • Responsible for a thorough knowledge of this General Maintenance Manual, General Operations Manual, Ops Specs, and Company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for advising the Pilot in Command of any maintenance issues that would take an aircraft out of service.
  • Responsible for completing maintenance as assigned by the Regional Maintenance Manager on all aircraft and components.
  • Upon installation or removal of any component or assembly, the A&P shall verify by physical inspection or spanings on the part that the part number and serial number match the associated documentation Parts Tag, 8130-3, 337 or any other maintenance release.
  • Responsible for correcting compliance or safety issues when directed by the Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, Chief Pilot, Maintenance Operations Director, Director of Safety, or Regional Maintenance Manager.
  • Responsible for performing the duties as assigned by the Maintenance Operations Director or Regional Maintenance Manager, including but not limited to aircraft and component inspections, repairs and alterations in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for validating or confirming the data in the Status Report concerning the aircraft he or she is working on.
  • Performs Other duties as assigned.

III. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant
  • At least 2 years of Maintenance experience as a Certified Mechanic
  • Drivers License

IV. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Inspection Authorization
  • Manufactures maintenance courses (407, 429, EC135, EC145, King Air)
  • 2 Years experience in a Part 135 Air Medical Operation

V. WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT (Include Physical Demands)
  • Computer skills, including typing, scanning, printing, file management, and Microsoft office.
  • Read and understand company policy, applicable CFRs and accreditation policies.
  • Ability to read and interpret Aircraft manufacturers & 3rd party (STC/337) maintenance instructions, drawings, blueprints and instructions.
  • Willing to travel and assist in their operational areas maintenance events.
  • Be available on call 50
  • Be able to sit, stand, climb (Including the use of ladders and stands), walk for entire workday.
  • Ability to use common hand & power tools for entirety of assigned duties.
  • Ability to use small finger manipulations for entirety of assigned duties.
  • Be able to lift and carry 50 lbs., up and down ladders and stands, around work area and above the head.
  • Ability to see and detect anomalies in structures, wiring and other aircraft systems.
  • Office & outdoors.
  • Frequent exposure to hazardous materials, loud noise, hazardous tooling & extreme heat/cold.
  • Essential physical requirements climbing, standing, stooping, bending, confined spaces & typing.
  • Physical effort/lifting, medium - up to 50 lbs.; heavy - over 50 lbs.
  • Required to work overtime, weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
  • Travel requirements occasional
