Spur Aviation Services, LC is a Part 135 company based in Twin Falls, Idaho. Our specialty is providing first response Air Attack Aircraft in support of Wild land Fire Fighting Operations in the summer.
We are offering immediate openings for A&P Mechanics who specialize in Avionics. As an Avionics Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems, radios, and navigation equipment on our aircraft throughout the year. As a certified aircraft mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing Turbine and Piston powered aircraft. Work during fire season (summer) will include traveling and working on the aircraft outside. All maintenance performed outside of fire season will be performed inside our hangars based in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Job Requirements
- 3 years min. Avionics Experience
- Airframe and Power Plant Rating
- Aircraft maintenance experience
- Experience with Garmin, Avidyne, Techsonic or Honeywell products
- Basic aircraft wiring knowledge
- Install and update new software
- Radio installation and troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot auto pilot systems
- Experience with trouble shooting in RF
- Come prepared with a basic assortment of industry standard tools
- Works well as part of a team
- Work flexible hours and be on-call at various times during fire season
- Accomplish maintenance in an outdoor environment during fire season
- Some traveling and overnight stays (number of overnight stays are few) during the fires season
- Communicate effectively with management and team member
Desired (not required) Qualifications and Skills:
- Twin Commander Model 690 A, B, C, D maintenance experience
- Garrett TPE 331 and Pratt & Whitney PT6A engine maintenance experience (or other turboprop engine maintenance experience)
- Pilatus PC-12 maintenance experience
- Inspection Authorized (IA) rating
- Pilots License
Responsibilities:
- Typical maintenance operations, such as removal and replacement of aircraft and power plant components in accordance with Company Maintenance SOP, Manufacturer/OEM approved data
- Troubleshoot, repair, clean, service, inspect, modify, replace, overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems using approved data to ensure airworthiness
- Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish each specific task
- Troubleshoot auto pilot systems
- Complete all required paperwork, maintain proficient records of repairs
- Use and operate all equipment in a safe manner
- Develop work plans and meet schedule estimates
- Follow all safety procedures and specifications
