Position Summary
Position Summary:
The production mechanic position supports the immediate needs for repair of production equipment. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance, refurbishing and installing of equipment and general plant maintenance duties as directed.
Responsibilities
• Adhere to the Company Quality and EHS Systems and Quality procedures and protocols.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing task requirements.
• Make independent judgment to utilize time efficiently
• Aptitude to be trained in new procedures and methods.
• Ensure PM schedules are followed and all facility equipment is kept in working condition.
• Work closely with Operational personnel in identifying and finding solutions to problems.
• Conducts machine setup and troubleshooting for scheduled production run
• Diagnoses problems & provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
• Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Complies with all safe operating procedures, OSHA regulations and PPE requirement
• Maintains clean and orderly work area
• Able and willing to work overtime
• Able to operate machinery such as overhead cranes, fork-lifts
• Computer literacy (Basic)
• Basic working understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
• Interpret and understand ISO drawings & working knowledge of basic measuring instruments
• Maintenance hand tools and checking devises.
• Good communication skills.
• Adaptable and Flexible to varied work rotations
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of Safety procedures and practices
Ability to work a flexible schedule with overtime as needed
Able to learn new skills or equipment
Strong communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the customer in mind
• An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
• Certified skill trade ~ equivalent to 2-4 years apprenticeship/scholarship
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) knowledge and troubleshooting
