Responsibilities
- Procures flight certified hardware in accordance with Government procurement regulations. The duties involve the evaluation, selection, negotiation, technical liaison, and other administration duties for a wide variety of procurement purchase instruments.
- The work involves providing status on outstanding hardware deliveries and staying abreast of current approved vendors.
- This position works closely with technical personnel to have a thorough knowledge of the hardware and to ensure quality specifications are translated into purchasing requirements.
- Knowledge for this position includes the Government purchasing practices and procedures, and skill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications and bids.
- Performs duties associated with the buying process. Research products, prepares purchase orders, places orders, and selects vendors.
- Organizes product information and tracks back orders. Obtains materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
- Studies spanet trends, interviews vendors, and recommends sources of supply.
- Analyzes quotations received, selects or recommends suppliers, and schedules deliveries.
- Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree with 5 years experience or 7 years equivalent experience without a degree. Experience with Deltek Costpoint a plus.
- Experience buying flight or military equipment is preferred.
