Job Description:

The Stock Clerk for the Turn-In Section plays a vital role in managing returns and ensuring inventory accuracy at the Clothing Initial Issue Point (CIIP). This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and processing returned clothing items, maintaining records, and ensuring that all products are stored appropriately for reuse or redistribution.


Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect returned clothing items for damage or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of returns through inventory management systems.
  • Repack items for redistribution and ensure that they are in excellent condition.
  • Assist in periodic inventory audits to verify stock accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other team members to maintain a clean and organized Turn-In area.
  • Provide excellent customer service to personnel returning items.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or warehouse/inventory experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of warehouse, stock handling, or inventory control experience; leadership or supervisory exposure is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy; ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems, barcode scanners, and basic MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Basic math and counting skills; ability to perform measurements and calculations as needed.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) for reporting, coaching, and coordinating with other teams.
  • Physical capability to perform lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods; ability to operate material handling equipment if applicable.
  • Knowledge of clothing and equipment like a lifecycle, sizing, and condition assessment is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a structured, process-oriented environment and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Applicant must possess a REAL ID‑compliant, state‑issued driver’s license or identification card
  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation results, obtain and maintain a CAC.
  • Experience with government or military property procedures, custody, and security protocols is desired.
  • Work Environment and Schedule:
  • May require periods of standing, walking, and light lifting.
  • Safety: Adherence to workplace safety and security policies; participation in safety meetings and training.
  • Night shift (e.g., 1900–0300 or as defined by unit needs), with flexibility for overtime or shift changes based on operational requirements during peak turnover periods or audits.
