Overview
Responsible for operating air and electrical grinding, drilling, and high speed deburring tools. Familiar with special purpose machines such as pedestal grinders and drill press and special purpose machines such as special sealant air equipment. Works under the general direction of the Supervisor, with daily direction of a cell leader.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follows all safety regulations and exercises care in handling parts and operating machinery.
- Reads and understands manufacturing process plans and process plan sketches.
- Able to do precision grinding and parts finishing of tight tolerance machined details, and/or bushing installations, reaming and drilling holes bearing swaging
- Participates in cell or fabrication projects and assist with process improvements, methods, solutions and procedures to enhance program quality, cost and scheduling.
Qualifications
- High School diploma plus a minimum of 1 year of additional applied training in a technical occupation. Basic arithmetic skills.
- Must be able to read and understand process plans and sketches.
- Must be able to utilize and interpret various types of precision measuring instruments. Conduct work in a safe manner
