Job Purpose

This unit leads and manages maintenance operations across the Emirates network and for third-party clients, providing strategic direction aligned with network growth plans. Emphasis is placed on safety, regulatory compliance, manufacturer standards, and Emirates procedures—executed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

In addition, the team provides leadership and support to a diverse, multi-disciplinary workforce, ensuring all personnel are well-managed, properly trained, and fully qualified to meet the operational needs of Emirates and its external customers.

About the role:

To lead, manage and direct maintenance operations throughout the network and associated activities worldwide, for Emirates and third-party customers. Provide strategic direction on all aspects of operation taking into account network growth plans relating to Maintenance operations with strong emphasis on safety, compliance with regulatory requirements, manufacturers and Emirates Procedures in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. Provide leadership and support for a multi-disciplined and multi-cultural workforce ensuring all are managed and appropriately trained and qualified to fully support Emirates operational requirements and that of any Third Parties.

What you will do:


  • Implement the agreed business strategy by providing maintenance support for the overall EK Passenger and Cargo network through EK Engineering presence, Flying Duties or Third-Party Support contracts. All decisions of support to be based on robust business cases for manned stations considering flight routes, location, frequency, existing support and presence, transit/layover times and facilities and appropriate capability availability.


  • Ensure utilise all available outstation ground time to direct and control scheduled/unscheduled maintenance tasks, with particular focus on cabin/IFE serviceability to optimise aircraft

    maintenance opportunities and product offering Continually review and adjust expenditure to meet increases in operational activities whilst maximising third party business opportunities to generate revenue and contribution.


  • Directly responsible for strategy development and planning ensuring all maintenance activities throughout the Network are performed in the most efficient and effective manner by either EK staff or third party suppliers. Activities performed must be conducted to the highest standards possible, be conducted safely in compliance with the established company technical and quality standards as approved by the regulatory Authority to achieve on-time departure, at the highest levels of reliability and safety standards.


  • Deliver the most practical and cost-effective services in support of the operation within budget. Continuously monitor, control and minimise costs through effective resource management, whilst increasing contribution, where possible. Conduct regular reviews of financial performance with EK Engineering Finance to ensure maintaining against budgets set.


  • Responsible for efficient execution of maintenance programme/plans and the efficient and safe handling of scheduled, unscheduled, casualty and recovery maintenance and events ensuring maintaining airworthiness standards are achieved. Ensure through close liaison with LM DXB, Flight Ops, CM, Group Safety and CAS that all reports including air safety, customer complaint and voyage reports are analysed and appropriately addressed.


  • Responsible for achieving optimised reliability objectives through critically analysing aircraft dispatch reliability statistics, ensuring the maintenance processes, procedures and standards are continuously reviewed to apply best practice. Achieve optimised reliability objectives through coordination with MCC, LM DXB and Engineering Technical Services and Support departments to enhance the health status of the EK Fleet. Benchspan performance to be undertaken against best in industry and any enhancements/adjustments necessary to be implemented accordingly.


  • Critically review and challenge manned and unmanned stations performance through setting key performance indicators and use of data analysis techniques. Produce monthly report measuring performance and efficiency.


  • Drive improvements in efficiency and productivity by investigating and identifying alternative methods of meeting the maintenance requirements of Emirates in a cost-effective manner through introducing improved Maintenance Practices.

  • Accountable in providing, maintaining and ensuring staff at all manned station operate in a safe working environment for which to work. Monitor and control to achieve a healthy environment through regular audits, safety campaigns, collaboration and engagement with internal/external stakeholders and authorities whilst examining occupational health and safety policies and practices within the workplace. Ensure facilities, equipment and tooling are maintained at the highest levels ensuring that areas are adequately equipped and supported and that the necessary funds are available as required to maintain at the optimum.


  • In liaison with our emergency response unit and aircraft recovery, develop and maintain ready-to-go plans for aircraft recovery and ensure appropriate staffing, equipment and tooling are maintained on alert. Responsible in ensuring recovery recurrent training is undertaken whilst maintaining the plan that will examine readiness through consulting with airport authorities and incident support unit management.


  • Responsible for ensuring the SGHA/ SLA being offered and entered with third party suppliers are established and set to ensure they are in best interests of the company from support, legal and financial perspective. Ensure agreed processes are followed prior to awarding contracts to mitigate against issues through assigning liability whilst monitoring and managing maintenance providers to ensure best service is provided, including basic capabilities or access to capability like EGR,NDT sheet metal shop, swaging, ETC.
Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Aircraft Maintenance License or Honours (12+3 equivalent)
  • Engineering Maintenance Control 12+ Years

Youll have an edge if you have:


  • Engineering License and/or business degree plus applicable engineering licence qualifications acceptable to the UAE/GCCA License in maintenance aircraft.
  • Experience in the field of Aircraft Maintenance, with significant senior level managerial experience.
  • Engineering License holder for a minimum of 10 years.
  • Thorough knowledge of the latest technical developments in aviation and industry trends on aircraft, engines and systems equipment. Proven business and management track records.
