Joby Aviation is seeking a Staff Systems Test Engineer who is a highly organized, passionate individual with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. This position will split their time between our Systems Tests facilities in Santa Cruz (HQ), Bonny Doon, and Marina. This role will operate in a fast paced, demanding, and rewarding environment with very high expectations for individual contribution.
Responsibilities
- System Test focal for Software, Modeling/Simulation and Automation teams to define integration needs, support test scenario preparation and follow up on execution aligning with company goals.
- Own system test automation strategy and execution (requirements, documentation, capability, test case authoring, configuration control, test execution and analysis) for development and certification credit across all system test assets
- Coordinate and collaborate within the system test team and across multiple software, systems and simulator functional groups (hardware emulation, software, simulation, automation and flight simulators) to ensure safety
- Drive integration, troubleshooting and root cause investigation activities for software issues across system test assets. for flight deck, powered network, avionics, integrated flight and propulsion control systems, special test and fault injection equipment)
- PCCB review, impact assessment, coordination with stakeholders.
- Review Software, Simulation & hardware emulation changes, perform impact analysis on test venues & test campaigns and coordination of change.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to evolve capabilities, productivity and test efficiency.
Required
- Bachelor’s in engineering or relevant fields.
- 8+ years of experience in an engineering environment with responsibility for implementing or managing change.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in the simultaneous management of multiple high-paced engineering projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of the product development cycle for hardware-centric projects from early design through to completion and launch.
- Expertise in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, and JIRA.
- Expertise in common workplace software (word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software, etc.) with the ability to create and maintain performance and efficiency metrics.
Desired
Experience with aerospace projects and FAA certification process is desired, but not required.
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $170,600 - $227,500/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
