We are hiring a Systems Engineer in Pittsfield, MA to support the modernization of Strategic Weapons Control and Fire Control Systems (FCS) for next-generation defense platforms. This role requires experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes, systems integration, requirements management, verification and validation, hardware/software integration, and defense systems engineering supporting mission-critical strategic weapons technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development, integration, testing, verification, and validation of Strategic Weapons Control and Fire Control Systems (FCS).
- Manage system requirements, technical documentation, traceability, and configuration management activities throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Coordinate hardware and software integration efforts, including:
- Test planning
- Troubleshooting
- Test execution
- Reporting and analysis
- Contribute to system architecture development, engineering design reviews, technical documentation, and customer deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex technical and integration challenges.
- Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and engineering presentations with internal stakeholders and government customers.
- Support engineering process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and AI-driven solutions to improve engineering workflows and system performance.
- Support program execution activities within secure defense engineering environments.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 6 months of related experience.
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, technical standards, and engineering lifecycle processes.
- Ability to learn quickly and contribute within a collaborative engineering environment.
- Experience supporting technical problem solving, systems integration, or engineering development activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Fire Control Systems (FCS) or strategic weapons systems.
- Knowledge of systems engineering processes, including:
- Requirements management
- Verification and validation
- Documentation control
- Configuration management
- Experience supporting hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and test execution.
- Familiarity with systems modeling and requirements management tools.
- Experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams and technical design reviews.
- Strong technical presentation and communication skills.
