Contract Position
$109.86-$114.86/Hour
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a cross-functional team to implement new Software Mission System (SMS) capabilities in preparation for an upcoming demonstration event.
- Collaborate with systems and software engineering teams to translate system-level designs into implementable features.
- Analyze and refine designs within the MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) framework.
- Guide the completion of Jira software development stories, ensuring technical alignment with system architecture.
- Review and/or create software designs within the model, providing design oversight and architectural input.
- Approve completed software designs post-implementation, ensuring alignment with project and performance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (or 8+ years with a Master’s degree).
- Proven experience with SMS development and architectural design.
- Extensive experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) development.
- Skills & Tools:
- Proficient in software architectural modeling and system decomposition.
- Hands-on experience using Jira for Agile software lifecycle management.
- Strong background in Agile software development methodologies.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in negotiation, securing stakeholder buy-in, and delivering technically sound solutions under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional presentation and communication abilities to interface with engineering teams and customers alike.
