Purpose
As Principal Performance & Dynamics Engineer, you will serve as a technical specialist responsible for Performance and Dynamics (P&D) analysis of mechanical and hydraulic systems, with application to aircraft landing gears, including shock-absorbers, extension/retraction and steering systems. Responsibilities include supporting requirements definition, validation and verification, and contributing to the development of analysis methods and tools. The role will also support the creation of strategies related to P&D activities across assigned programmes. In addition, the position involves mentoring and coaching team members to share technical knowledge and expertise.

Job Requirements:

What do I need to succeed in the role?

•\tExperience of landing gear structures and systems
•\tExperience of dynamic analysis and computational modelling and simulation
•\tModel correlation and validation experience
•\tKnowledge of airworthiness requirements and certification for landing gear and equipment
•\tExperience of using MATLAB/Simulink, MSC ADAMS, and AMESim
•\tProficient in coding, e.g. Python
•\tAbility and willingness to communicate and work with all disciplines of engineering and external suppliers
•\tCoaching

•\tTechnical Leadership
•\tDecision making skills
•\tTechnical problem-solving skills

Qualifications

Minimum of HNC level in an engineering discipline with relevant experience in an engineering discipline.
