Job overview and responsibilities:

The Principal Engineer plays a dual role, acting as both a technical expert and a leader in the Field Services team. This individual is tasked with planning the allocation of resources for the Field Services contract personnel, while also possessing a comprehensive knowledge of the technologies utilized by the company, including both hardware and software.

In collaboration with the Sr. Manager – Field Services, the Principal Engineer will oversee the project portfolio within their designated region, with a special focus on projects at the regional Hub. They are charged with creating resource matrices to guarantee that projects are adequately staffed, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.

Additionally, the Principal Engineer will work in tandem with the Sr. Manager to pinpoint and implement training opportunities for the region’s Engineers and will act as a guiding figure within the team. They will also engage with colleagues across the organization to contribute to initiatives and address complex challenges.

The Principal Engineer will serve as the backup to the Sr. Manager and will represent Field Services in the event the Sr. Manager is attending to other responsibilities.

The Principal Engineer will be esteemed throughout the region for their profound engineering acumen and will be the go-to expert for resolving intricate or unusual systems engineering issues.
  • Leads efforts to make recommendations on technology acceptance, standards, and product selection in coordination with End User Engineering, Field Services Support
  • Attend projects meetings related to the Hub and contribute to the successful planning and execution of key initiatives.
  • Partner with Sr. Manager to define project plans and identify the resources needed to ensure success.
  • Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to define project objectives, develop detailed delivery plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports, provides advanced technical support for end users: LAN "Local Area Network" WAN "Wide Area Network" VOIP "Voice Over IP"CCTV "Closed Circuit Television", Mobility platforms
  • Responsible for assisting in the design, testing, evaluation, implementation, and support for various Critical Infrastructure hardware deployments for the region (copper backbone cabling, and fiber optic backbone)
  • Manage day to day activities for enterprise level support for iOS and Android, Drives AV innovation and standardization across the region, performs CCTV Testing, diagnostics, and repairs of product for the region
  • Consult with other business units (e.g. application groups, engineering, network, etc.) to configure platforms for product installation
  • Provides technical training to peers and team

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science - Information Technology
  • Mobility IOS/Android, Windows, LAN room and (DT) Digital technology Infrastructure experience (Copper, fiber optic)
  • 7+ Years of related experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Aptitude for problem solving, looking beyond the obvious and not stopping at the first answer
  • Strong level of poise in high pressure environments
  • Active commitment to self-development
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $137,275.00 to $187,000.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
