The Lower Tier and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) Team is looking for a Deployment and Fielding Engineer to support the planning and execution of a sustainment strategy for the fielded LTAMDS systems. This includes coordinating with on-site support staff, deployment of sustainment resources, field maintenance support, material procurement, return & repair, and technical assistance.
What You Will Do:
Core responsibilities include material fielding planning, site activation, site surveys, system integration and checkout (SICO), field modifications, product test support, depot capability development and delivery, support to engineering change proposals, proposal support, customer alignment and coordination.
As a Deployment and Fielding Engineer, you’ll work closely with the Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Global Mobility, EXIM, IPT Leadership and Program Management teams to apply discipline program management processes and utilize tools to establish and monitor metrics and trends to ensure excellence in execution. Providing LTAMDS Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support for the Deployment, Fielding and Sustainment (DFS) Integrated Product Team (IPT).
In this role, you’ll work with a team in surveying future LTAMDS sites and determining the locations feasibility in supporting the radar system. Followed by a system deployment to the location and establishing a sustainment plan. This will include providing regular briefing updates to both program and customer leadership, ability to design a site plan layout, generating Ship/Deployment Readiness Review briefings, travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations, and working with a varied team from various functional departments across multiple facilities. As a Deployment and Fielding Engineer, you will be responsible for a broad scope of activities to support the deployment of a radar system.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Driving performance schedule targets
Responsible for executing program scope within cost and schedule requirements
Maintaining open and frequent communication with program counterparts
Supporting proposal inputs on all relevant scope
Support resolving cost, scope, and schedule issues
Support developing a roadmap for sustainment activities
Sustainment strategy pertaining to depot and deployment activities
Balancing alignment between program and product roadmap objectives
Regularly interact with the USG and foreign customers
Coordinate with Field Service Representatives (FSR) for training and deployments
Domestic and International travel will be required 25 - 50
This position is ONSITE
This position can be based in Tewksbury, MA or Huntsville, AL
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically Requires: Bachelors degree and minimum 8 years of relevant Engineering or Project Management experience working on large radar programs. An advanced degree may account for additional years if experience as required for this position
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or managing project or program cost, schedule and risk
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience and capability to work with all Windows 10/11 applications with a focus on all Microsoft Office products to include Word to write fielding documents, use Excel to collect and organize data, and Power Point to develop presentations for key meetings with customers at all levels
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience executing DoD sustainment and/or product support activities and with US Army / DoD radar programs
Experience with radar and/or sensor systems or other advanced electronic systems, preferably with either Patriot Army Air Defense or AN/TPY-2 systems
Experience with developing or performing System Integration and Checkout (SICO) procedures for a radar or advanced electronic systems, preferably with either Patriot Army Air Defense or AN/TPY-2 systems
Experience with proposal development/management
Experience performing site surveys for new radar or system installations
Experience deploying and installing radar systems into the field
Experience with generating or working with Material Fielding Plans (MFP)
Experience with Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS)
Experience working an FMS or DFS type contracts
Familiarity with developing a radar site plan
Familiarity with the Interactive Authoring and Display Software (IADS) to view Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMS)
Experience working and coordinating with a deployed site team in sustainment of a radar system
Familiarity with maintenance planning, radar maintenance procedures and Radar Maintenance Control System.
Experience leading meetings, generating and briefing presentation packages, and briefing senior RTX and customer leadership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with and present material to stakeholders at all levels
Experience using PowerPoint
Ability to work collaboratively with varied teams across various functional departments

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
