Job Summary
We are seeking a candidate with either a background in Mechanical Engineering or in Electrical Engineering to join our Hardware Engineering Department located in Beavercreek, OH as a Hardware Engineering Manager I. In this role you will be overseeing a diverse group of Hardware Engineers and supporting current programs and IRADs as a technical leader. The successful leader will bring their passion for engineering excellence and passion for growing and mentoring people and delivering cutting edge technology.
Job Responsibilities
- Overseeing and guiding a team to ensure goals are met. This involves providing support, setting clear expectations, managing performance, and fostering a positive work environment. The role also includes helping with the development of team members, resolving conflicts, and ensuring effective communication.
- Candidates with an EE background: Responsible for designing, developing, and improving electronic systems, including areas like hardware, power engineering, and circuits. Tasks include troubleshooting issues, making modifications, and analyzing design and test data to recommend improvements.
- Candidates with an ME background: Responsible for designing and modifying mechanical and electromechanical components or systems, including areas like mechanical analysis, aerodynamics, and thermal systems. This includes recommending design solutions to meet production needs and solving product or process problems.
- Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments.
- Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements.
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
- Ability to lead and direct experience engineers.
- Experience leading customer funded programs and IRAD.
- Candidates with an EE background: Experience in digital hardware design, interfaces, and architectures.
- Understanding of project/task management and technical estimating.
- Candidates with an EE background: Experience with FPGA/VHDL development is a plus.
- Experience with CCA and PCB development is a plus.
- Candidates with an ME background: Experience in Ansys Analysis is a plus.
- Candidates with an ME background: Knowledge of Mechanical Design using Inventor is a plus.
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
