Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
This position supports the development, modification and application of the engineering assurance/quality principles and processes for the purpose of reducing and/or eliminating escapes or omissions linked to design early in the lifecycle to ensure design integrity and robustness while maintaining efficiency. The role includes supporting various design reviews and inspections of the testing processes, mechanisms, systems integration and requirements verification. Good organizational and leadership skills are needed to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work closely with the IPT leaders and design group. This role requires collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management and many other functions to ensure Engineering Assurance and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:
Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs.
Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.
Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
Reviews program designs, specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements.
Extensive review of supplier documentation to verify compliance with quality standards and contractual requirements as they pertain to the equipment being procured.
Performs quality assurance verification on systems and equipment designed, built and procured to ensure design parameters and materials meet required standards and specifications.
Participate/Facilitate root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations to address non-conformances, ensuring effective resolution and continuous improvement.
Bachelor Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2 years of experience in Quality OR a Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 0 years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field
An Active, In-scope, DoD Secret Security Clearance with the last investigation occurring within the last five (5) years as well as obtain Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications Level 2:
Experience in design review using modeling tools, such as NX
Experience with providing quality oversight of trainer software/courseware development
Strong Organizational and Leadership Skills
Experience with Supplier Engagement
Experience with Root Cause/Corrective Action
Experience with Material Review Board
Experience with Laboratory Operations
Active DoD Top Secret level clearance
Basic Qualifications Level 3:
Bachelor Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of experience in Quality OR a Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field

Primary Level Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
