Software Engineer - Crypto & Cross Domain Solutions

Contract Position

Pay Estimated: $51.17-$56.17/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Linux kernel drivers for embedded cryptographic systems.

• Lead the software development lifecycle, from concept through deployment, following modern Agile practices.

• Collaborate with electrical, systems, and firmware engineers to integrate secure, high-performance solutions on Xilinx/Petalinux platforms.

• Apply deep understanding of Linux networking and routing in secure system environments.

• Propose and implement innovative, high-performing software solutions with minimal oversight.

• Provide technical leadership within the team and mentor junior engineers.

• Utilize debugging tools and techniques to resolve complex kernel-level issues.

• Champion new technologies, methodologies, and improvements in development processes.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law

• Education: Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field;

  • Master’s degree accepted with 3+ years of experience; otherwise, 5+ years of experience required.

• Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience developing Linux kernel drivers for embedded systems

  • Proficient in kernel debugging and root cause analysis

  • Capable of delivering complete solutions with limited input

• Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Petalinux/Xilinx SoCs (Zynq Ultrascale+, Versal)

  • Familiarity with Linux networking and routing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Docker and Podman on Linux

• Experience with Wind River Linux

• Agile development experience
