Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $49.94-$54.94/Hour
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
Provide ILS subject matter expertise to analyze and influence system design for supportability across lifecycle phases.
Develop, review, and revise operations and maintenance procedures, training content, and technical manuals in accordance with DoD standards.
Lead and mentor ILS team members in the delivery of products across all ILS elements (maintenance planning, training, support equipment, etc.).
Validate and execute test procedures in lab and onboard submarines; may require shift work and at-sea operations.
Review draft maintenance documentation and provide expert input to improve clarity, accuracy, and usability.
Support curriculum design using instructional design practices for operator and maintainer training programs.
Coordinate directly with Navy customers, program teams, and engineering disciplines to ensure ILS product alignment with system requirements.
Travel to support Navy vessels in port and underway for logistics validation and system verification.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, or related field
Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required at time of hire.
Experience:
9–12 years in ILS engineering, preferably supporting Navy submarine systems
Experience with AN/BYG-1, AN/BQQ-10, or Common Weapon Launcher
Background in developing technical manuals, training content, and test documentation
Familiarity with submarine fleet logistics
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with S1000D, IETMs, and the SIDD viewer
Understanding and application of DoD standards:MIL-STD-3001, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-STD-24784, MIL-STD-40051-2C
Software tools: Microsoft Office, XMLSpy, Visio, PowerPoint
Exposure to Linux/Unix environments (preferred)
ILS Expertise:
Deep knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support elements, including:
Maintenance planning, technical manuals, support equipment, training, manpower, PHS&T, and RM&A
Proven ability to assess system design impacts on ILS elements
Skilled in Acquisition Logistics and collaboration across IPTs
